A Dated Home, Reimagined Room by Room

The Short Version

Honey-oak cabinets. Teal carpet. A green tiled tub behind glass block. This home had good bones and a very dated wardrobe. We kept the bones and changed almost everything else, room by room, into something bright, open, and unmistakably current.

The Starting Point

Good Bones, Hiding Under Dated Finishes

Underneath the honey-oak cabinets and teal carpet was a genuinely well-built home: high ceilings, big windows, and an open footprint most houses would envy. What it needed was not more square footage, but a completely new feel.

So we worked through it room by room. The closed-in oak kitchen opened up around a waterfall-edge island. The dated primary bath, with its corner tub and glass block, became a calm spa suite with a freestanding tub and a frameless glass shower. Blue-grey tile and white spindles gave way to warm wood floors and clean black metal.

The result keeps everything that made the house worth keeping and updates everything that made it feel its age. It reads bright, current, and effortless, which was the whole idea.

The Scope

What the Renovation Touched

A brand-new kitchen.

Honey oak gave way to white cabinetry, quartz counters, and a waterfall-edge island built for gathering.

A spa-style primary suite.

The corner tub and glass block are gone, replaced by a freestanding tub, a frameless glass shower, and a fitted walk-in closet.

Floors throughout.

Dated tile and carpet replaced with warm, wide-plank wood-look flooring that ties the whole home together.

Bathrooms rebuilt.

Every bathroom taken from dated to clean and current, from the tile to the fixtures to the lighting.

New railings and stairs.

White spindles swapped for clean black metal that suits the brighter, more open feel.

Modern lighting throughout.

Chandeliers, pendants, and fixtures updated to match the home’s new character.
